Lions clubs identify potential young people between the ages of 15 and 18 who are involved in their communities reflecting the ideals of Lionism. They need to have a strong personality, demonstrate leadership qualities and have the ability to speak about their service activities to three judges linked to education, business and youth activities.
These young people can be found in all walks of life within Schools, Scouts and Guides, Churches, St John Ambulance, the Red Cross, Air Cadets, Sea Cadets and indeed from Lions own Young Leaders in Service. Some clubs have found candidates through local press articles and social media.
Lions Clubs should be on the lookout for these young people all year round.

This year by the 30th November 2019 potential candidates must be identified by clubs and applications completed and sent to the Young Ambassador Lead, with the supporting written evidence.
In January 2020 The District Final. All clubs can submit a candidate for this event.
The winner of the District Final will go through to the MD Final over the weekend of Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd February 2020. Here they will meet up with the other 105 Candidates for a weekend of work and fun, the emphasis being on fun.
The winner of the MD Final will represent Lions 105 at Europa Forum.
